No naptime today

I heard that some toddlers stop napping during the day and I am afraid of it. Today is a no-nap day and I am not looking forward to dealing with this guy in the evening...

Anyway since I did not draw today, I will post an old portrait of my husband. He was staring at his laptop, I was staring at him :)

No name yet

Surprisingly this painting looks very nice in its frame. I might fix some minor details later but overall impression is that it is done. I cannot keep original name "Camel back" because camel is no longer there so I m looking for a new name.

This landscape looks absolutely unreal because I changed colors of the original plein air sketch. It was a very cold day when I went out with my brushes and canvas. I was thinking about my father who was an enthusiastic winter fisherman. He was out fishing always when he had a chance and bad weather never stopped him. I have his gens, don't I?

Some thoughts about the bushes.... There are a lot of paintings with beautiful realistic bushes and trees and somehow it is not the case with my artworks. I convinced myself that these beautiful paintings look alike and it is hard to tell who the artist was unless it is something really famous. Excuses-excuses..haha

This is the view from my window. Usually we do not see that many cars, they come only on weekends and the rest of the week it feels like we own the whole place!

I am in no rush to sell this painting because it looks wonderful on our wall. Anyway, I will be happy if someone likes it as much as I do.

Portrait -- more details

I want to say, YES, this is done! and every time I see something else that needs to be fixed. How to find a perfect moment to stop? I do not like photo-realism, on the other hand you cannot just leave a painting unfinished. Looking for a healthy balance. One who works with the numbers should never have this problem.

We went skiing on Sunday. Celebrating another snow storm!

Camel back landscape

Camel back because the mountains on the back look like a huge camel is hiding there.
Still figuring out how to finish this landscape. My husband said add some rain on the background. Yeah right, this is a winter moment. When many dogs go for a walk this is what happens to the snow!

Facing new challenges

Nap time adventures became nap-and-lunch time adventures. I touched the portrait today during the break, hoping to find some time for arts going forward.

It felt like I traveled back in times. In two months nothing changed at work, same people, same projects, same worries. As if I had a short vacation and came back.

I sold this cute landscape recently. The new owner likes it as much as I do and this makes me happy.

Balloons that don't look like balloons

There was a funny moment today when a painting fell on the palette with oil paints. Fixing the damage took only 30 minutes. It could be worse!
