Beautiful shapeless river

For some reason every time I think how to describe the sketch, I want to criticize it, apologize to all and promise to paint better in the future.
Ha!

Saturday afternoon fun

I came back home nearly fainting. This painting is not worth it.
I am sure it will look better if I work on it next week

Rainy day

Heavy head, heavy rain.
I was not really exited while working on this sky, you can tell.

Nap-n-draw

I decided to nap before drawing and it was great!
If someone turned back clock and I had another chance to draw this I would have shifted the whole thing to the left and worked more one the right tree.

Don't eat out unless you planned it well

I wanted to eat out, we waited for food for good half an hour and we could not make it home before our munchkin knocked out in a car. I stayed with him hoping to draw while he naps and guess what? He woke up very soon. The rest of the day was a bit messy...
I feel that I owe something to this blog. Every time the drawing does not come up well I want to apologize. Bizarre.

Cars

Very old cute pastels.
I was on a plein air with my student. Good old days...

Easter joy!

Greeting the sheep and checking out beautiful sheep fur rugs.
I look so little with this tiny little boy.

30 minutes with pencils

It is so hard to resume drawing/painting even after a short break! I keep asking myself "why am I drawing again?.."
I am glad that we have so many meetings at work. Perfect excuse for a little drawing exercise.
Composition is unbalanced but who cares?

Flashback: NYC

I was with a student and we decided to paint city view with the lights off. It was hard to tell what colors we were using so we picked just a few and mixed them randomly. This is my watercolor sketch:

Surprise drawing

I did not mean to draw this week but a conference call gave me this opportunity. The snow is almost gone so it was almost the last chance to work on this drawing.

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter for those who celebrated yesterday!

Greek and Russian Orthodox celebrate next Sunday so I will resume my secret art life next week. Now it's time for serious cleaning, cooking and church services first of all. See ya soon!

Boring composition, funny story

It was very windy today and there was no way to draw/paint outside despite the sun and lovely colors. I drove to a place that seem to be empty and parked at the self storage. Well, "parked" is not the right word. I was driving back and forth turning the car and looking for the perfect spot. The idea was to draw in the car to avoid the wind. I ended up in the middle of the road looking at the magnificent view of a curvy road, cozy house hiding in the trees.... All of a sudden a car approached and I knew I was on the wrong spot, they could hardly squeeze, my car took all the space. I waved and smiled, they too, but apparently they wanted to ask me something. "Are you OK?" "Yes, why? I want to draw a little ha-ha". "Well, we are the owners.... it's OK to park here but.... please.... if you could move your car a little.." How funny, right? I thought there is nobody on earth who uses this self storage. Feeling embarrassed and hoping they will not watch me move my car I ended up with a boring view that I could easily get near our house! Anyway, here is this little drawing. I wish I did it right (not wasting time on details on the background).
I came back home right when my little one woke up!

4+ trees from our backyard

4+ means plenty.
I wasted a lot of nap time today so this drawing is not finished.

Saying bye to the snow

It was a great snowy winter. I did not quite see this little tree so it did not come out very well. Someone said that it does not matter how many drawings you do, it matters how much they weight. Practice-practice-practice.

Green River on Etsy

I finished this painting some time ago and finally added it to Etsy.

No-name-yet Batavia Kill landscape

I think that this is done or almost done. Do not want to kill it with detailed.
10" x 8"
Colors are so fresh when you do not try to fix original sketch.
